Seamless precision steel tubes, also called hydraulic steel tubes, are made in accordance to DIN 2391/C and DIN 2445/2 standards. There are two common types of seamless steel tubes material available: ST37.4 (E235N) and ST52.4 (E355N). The difference in materials will result in varying working pressure that it can tolerate with same tubing sizes.
The steel tubes have an NBK finishing where tubes are normalized, phosphate, and oiled inside and outside. Seamless precision steel tubes are also commonly referred to as hydraulic tubes or hydraulic pipes.

Hydraulic tubes and instrumentation tubes in a comprehensive range of corrosion-resistant stainless steels and nickel alloys covering outside diameters from (OD) 1.59 to 50 mm (0.0625 to 1.968 in.). All sizes are supplied with smooth surfaces and close dimensional tolerances reducing the risk of leakages when connecting tubes with couplings.
Standard delivery form for hydraulic and instrumentation tube is straight lengths of 6 meters, but our tubes can also be delivered as coiled tubing, contributing to reduced installation costs.
Tubes with high cleanliness
Hydraulic tubes and instrumentation tubes are characterized by high cleanliness, and tubes with OD larger than 5 mm (0.196 in.) are delivered with plugged ends for transport protection against inside contamination.
Hydraulic line tubing is made to SAE J525 specifications and is available in 20 foot random lengths. The base material is .18 maximum carbon steel that is produced dead soft to provide for the ease of bending and flaring for hydraulic fluid line applications.
TS stocks SAE J524 cold drawn and annealed seamless low-carbon steel pressure tubing intended for use as hydraulic lines and in other applications requiring tubing a quality suitable for flaring and bending.
This seamless carbon steel tubing is ideal for flaring and bending. It features a smooth, clean inside surface to help prevent valve and cylinder damage. Use with standard fittings in hydraulic, diesel fuel injection, lubrication, refrigerator generator pump, heating coil, air conditioner, and other high-pressure applications.
Hydraulic Fluid Line:
TS offers Hydraulic Fluid Line (HFL) in both Seamless and Electric Resistance Welded grades. Designed and processed to insure a clean ID necessary for hydraulic fluid line systems. Both grades are designed to meet the same minimum bursting pressures. Both products are produced in such a way to allow for easy bending and flaring.
HFL Seamless is produced from cold drawn 1010 steel and meets AMS 5050-G, JIC specs, ASTM A-179, and SAE J524b
HFL ERW is made from .18 maximum carbon steel. Material is normalized for ease of bending and flaring. Meets SAE J356 and J525b
Stocked in ¼” OD – 2.0” OD; .028” wall - .120” wall thickness
Seamless tubing supplied shall have been tested at not less than 1,000 lbs. hydrostatic test pressure
Ends are capped to protect ID’s.
Pressure tested using the nondestructive Eddy Current Test.
